POSITION OVERVIEW:
Working in collaboration with other GIS staff, the GIS Analyst/Senior Analyst will be responsible for assisting with data creation and QC for various GIS datasets using ESRI and P2 GIS software. This position will play an essential role in ensuring that company GIS data is accurately and continuously reflective of our associated assets. In addition, this position will produce high-quality maps and provide general GIS support across the organization.
The GIS Analyst/Senior Analyst will report to the GIS Project Manager.
Job Location: In office located in Austin, TX or Denver, CO.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assist with geospatial dataset maintenance including mapping mineral ownership tracts and drilling spacing units
Assist in performing and developing routine quality control processes as well as participating in maintaining master data management system
Assist in evaluation of M&A opportunities by preparing and analyzing geospatial data to be used across the deal evaluation team.
Assist with preparing geospatial data and materials for Sitio business processes that will be consumed by other departments and outside of the company
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years' GIS/Geoscience related experience in oil and gas industry
Ability to read and map written legal descriptions
Experience with Texas Land Grid
Experience training/mentoring team members
Solid understanding of GIS principles (data types, delivery options, georeferencing)
Experience working with different coordinate systems
Experience working with various database types (SQL server, Enterprise Geodatabases, File Geodatabases)
ArcGIS Pro experience
Powerpoint and Excel experience (pivot tables, vlookup, xlookup)
Experience working with and doing quality control on large datasets
Experience working with team members in different offices/remote work
High attention to detail
Team-player with the ability to handle simultaneous projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent oral and written communication; will frequently be working with various disciplines across the company and across three different offices
Ability to understand complex business processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience at an oil & gas royalties company
Previous A&D experience
Python (running scripts or writing them)
ArcGIS Desktop 10.x experience
P2GIS or similar land management mapping experience
Experience working with Geology and/or Engineering teams
Experience with ArcGIS Online (creating web maps, custom apps, dashboards)
Experience working in a multi-user editing environment
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Status: Full-time, exempt
Base Pay Range: $70,000 –$130,000 depending on location, qualifications, experience
